We understand how stressful it can be to misplace something while travelling, and we’re here to help. Lost property can be handed in at various locations across Gold Coast Airport, depending on where the item was found.

Missing Baggage

If you’ve left an item onboard or your baggage hasn’t arrived, the best place to start is with your airline. They’ll be able to help locate your missing belongings.

Lost Your Passport?

All lost passports are handed over to Australian Border Force (ABF). If yours has gone missing, please contact ABF directly.

Lost Something in the Terminal?

If you’ve misplaced something at Gold Coast Airport, fill out the Lost Property Form below with as much detail as possible. The more information you provide, the easier it is for us to identify your item. We recommend submitting your form within seven days of losing your item.

Lost Property Office Hours: 12:00pm – 6:00pm, seven days a week.

Items We Can’t Hold Onto

For health and safety reasons, some items can’t be kept in lost property. These include:

  • Food and drinks (including containers and unsealed alcohol)
  • Medication and false teeth
  • Personal hygiene products
  • Disposable pens and stationery
  • Baby products (e.g., dummies, bottles)
  • Items with strong odours or possible contamination

Prohibited Items

Security-prohibited or surrendered items will not be stored by Trident Security Services or Gold Coast Airport.

Unclaimed Lost Property

Gold Coast Airport partners with Baby Give Back and Friends with Dignity to donate unclaimed lost property after 30 days. These donations help families in need and may include prams, car seats, children’s toys, clothing, bicycles, books, and hats.

Which airline lounges are available?

Gold Coast Airport offers Virgin Australia Lounge and Qantas Club for eligible passengers. 

How do I find out if my flight is delayed?

Check the Flight Information Display Screens on our website or throughout the terminal. You can also contact your airline directly.

Do I have enough time to transit between international and domestic terminals?

The International and Domestic Arrivals and Departures are located within the same terminal building. If arriving from an International flight, proceed north as you exit the International Arrivals area to  Domestic Check-in . If you are arriving on a Domestic flight, proceed through the Domestic Arrivals corridor and, upon exiting, turn left — the Check-in area is located within a short walking distance. Refer to the Transfers page for more information.

What’s the carry-on luggage weight limit?

Carry-on luggage weight limits vary depending on your airline. This is often included in your flight itinerary or booking details. For further clarification, contact your airline directly.

Is there baggage wrapping available?

Yes. Baggage wrapping services are available opposite the Virgin Australia check-in counters.

Are there ATMs at Gold Coast Airport?

Yes. Multi-currency ATMs are located throughout the terminal and offer AUD, NZD, and JPY. Fees range from $2 to $25.

Where is the Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS) desk?

Located in the International Departures Lounge near the top of the escalators before Heinemann Duty Free. Inform check-in staff if you need to claim an item packed in checked baggage. For more information about TRS please visit the Department of Home Affairs website.

Are there Multi-Faith areas at the airport?

 Yes, three Multi-Faith/Prayer Rooms are available:

 

  • Near the main security point, opposite the domestic passenger screening area.
  • In the Domestic Departures Lounge, near Hungry Jack’s.
  • In the International Departures Lounge on Level 2, near WHSmith.
How early do I need to be at the airport for my flight?

Most domestic airlines require you to be at the check-in counter at least 60 minutes before departure. International airlines recommend arriving at least two hours before your flight. Be sure to check the guidelines provided by your airline.

Does Gold Coast Airport have more than one terminal?

Gold Coast Airport has one main terminal. Both domestic and international flights operate from this terminal.

Does Gold Coast Airport operate on Queensland or NSW time?

Gold Coast Airport operates on Queensland time (AEST) all year round.

Is Gold Coast Airport open 24 hours?

The terminal is open from 4:00am to 11:00pm daily. Entry is restricted outside these hours, and overnight stays inside the terminal are not permitted.

Does Gold Coast Airport have free Wi-Fi?

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal.

Are there smoking areas at the airport?

Yes. Designated smoking areas are located at the northern end of the terminal, along the northern car park walkway, and in the southern forecourt. Smoking, vaping, or using e-cigarettes is strictly prohibited inside the terminal and airside areas.

Are there lockers available at the airport?

Yes. Lockers are located at the front of the terminal in the short-term car park. Pricing varies depending on duration.

Is there public transport available to and from Gold Coast Airport?

Yes. Public buses connect directly to nearby train stations and key locations across the Gold Coast. For more details, visit our Transport page.

Where is the rideshare pick-up zone?

Rideshare pick-up is located outside the terminal in the designated rideshare area. 

Can I catch a train to the airport?

While there's no train station at the airport, you can take a bus or shuttle from Varsity Lakes or Helensvale train stations.

How far is the airport from Surfers Paradise and Byron Bay?
  • Surfers Paradise: ~30 minutes by car
  • Byron Bay: ~45 minutes by car
Are there car rental services at Gold Coast Airport?

Yes – major rental car companies have desks inside the terminal. Pre-booking is recommended, especially during peak periods. For more information click here.
