Noise Information

Gold Coast Airport (GCA) and its aviation partners are committed to ensuring the community and other stakeholders are provided with the most relevant information on aircraft noise issues and management. GCA continues to take a proactive approach to communication, engaging with the local community, business groups, and local, state, and federal government representatives.

Gold Coast Airport operates under a curfew between 11:00pm and 6:00am (Queensland local time) in line with the Air Navigation (Gold Coast Airport Curfew) Regulations 2018.

During the curfew, permitted movements are based on aircraft weight and activity types.

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts manages exceptions to standard curfew activity and may grant special permission under a regulated quota and dispensation regime,  for an aircraft to operate during curfew hours.

Airservices Australia is responsible for monitoring aircraft noise and responding to noise complaints. Under the Airports Act 1996, Gold Coast Airport is responsible for producing and publishing an Australian Noise Exposure Forecast (ANEF) map in its master plan.
