Fly Ready Day
Fly Ready Day is a hands-on practice experience, giving people with accessibility needs the chance to feel more confident and prepared before their next flight. Walk through the full airport journey, from arrival to boarding a Jetstar aircraft and disembarking again, all without leaving the ground.
What is Fly Ready Day?
Fly Ready Day is a chance to visit Gold Coast Airport and practise what air travel is like. You can learn about:
- Arriving at the airport
- Getting around the airport
- Checking in
- Going through security
- Finding your gate
- Waiting to board
- Boarding a plane
- Disembarking the aircraft
- What to expect when you travel
You can ask questions, take your time and practise each step at your own pace. The aircraft will not take off.

Completing this form does not mean you have secured a place at the Fly Ready Day. There are only a limited number of places available so unfortunately, we cannot guarantee everyone’s participation.
A member of the Gold Coast Airport team will contact you about your interest and let you know if you can attend the Fly Ready Day.
Onboard aircraft experience
Due to the time available on the day, an onboard aircraft experience may not be possible for everyone.
This may include people who use complex medical equipment or have more complex access needs.

accessibility@qldairports.com.au. We would be happy to discuss your needs and how we may be able to support you on the day.
Do you or does anyone in your group have an assistance animal?
We welcome assistance animals at Gold Coast Airport and at our Fly Ready Day. Assistance animals are welcome in line with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).
To help keep everyone safe and comfortable, we may ask for reasonable evidence that an animal is an assistance animal under the Act.
During the event, assistance animals must remain under the control of their handler and behave appropriately.
