Travel to and from the South Pacific, the USA and Canada is about to become a lot easier, with Fiji Airways set to land at Gold Coast Airport next year.
The airline will fly from Nadi, Fiji three times a week, also offering an easy connection to the Gold Coast for passengers from Los Angeles, Dallas Fort Worth and Vancouver via Fiji.

Queensland Airports Limited CEO Amelia Evans said it was an exciting milestone in the expansion of Gold Coast Airport’s international network.
“What’s particularly exciting about this route is that, on top of gaining another spectacular holiday destination for locals, this connection with Fiji will further open up the Gold Coast to the world,” she said.
“Fiji Airways has strong links into the United States and Canada, so this service will also give travellers the option to fly from North America to the Gold Coast via Fiji.
“It’s estimated inbound travel from this route will contribute more than $51million to the local economy each year.”
Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Paul Scurrah, said the new Gold Coast - Nadi route highlights the airline’s ongoing commitment to serving the Australian market.
“The Gold Coast is a natural fit for Fiji Airways. It is a thriving hub for tourism, business, and major global events, and its population and infrastructure growth make it an increasingly important part of Australia’s future.
“This new direct service strengthens ties between Fiji and Australia, unlocking significant opportunities for both outbound and inbound travel.”

The service was supported by the Queensland Government and Experience Gold Coast through the Connecting Queensland Fund.
Queensland Tourism Minister Andrew Powell said the Crisafulli Government is proud to support this route through Destination 2045’s Connecting Queensland Fund.
“We promised more strategic flights connecting Queensland to the world, and we are delivering,” Minister Powell said.
“The Fiji-Gold Coast route opens new pathways through the USA and Canada via Nadi, bringing tens of thousands of travellers right to our doorstep.
“That $51 million boost to our economy will go straight to our local cafes, hotels and experience operators who make our state the true home of the holiday, all while supporting more than 100 direct jobs.”
Experience Gold Coast CEO John Warn welcomed Fiji Airways and said the city was looking forward to welcoming more visitors to the region.
“It’s fantastic to welcome another international airline to the Gold Coast opening up our destination to both the Fijian market, and connecting visitors from North America,” Experience Gold Coast CEO John Warn said. “
Experience Gold Coast is continuing to work closely with the Queensland Government and our airline partners to secure exciting new aviation opportunities that allow us to tap into new international markets which in turn is great news for our visitor economy.”
Flights are now available from $549AUD return to Nadi, or $999AUD return to North America (via Nadi) at www.FijiAirways.com.
