Each airline has different requirements on how soon before your flight you must check in, so we encourage you to read all the available information provided to you. This information will also advise you of the allowable size of checked and cabin luggage, what items can be carried within your checked luggage, dangerous goods and other information that will make your departure as easy as possible.Click here to download the terminal map
After checking in, please proceed through the central security screening point. Everyone is welcome through the domestic security area, so if you have a friend or loved one meeting you at the airport or sending you off, why not enjoy a beverage and a meal together in the departure lounge?
Unfortunately, no visitors can proceed through International security to meet arriving or departing International passengers without a valid International ticket.
FINDING YOUR GATE
Your domestic flight will depart from the gates in the departure lounge. Please check the Flight Information Display Screens located throughout the terminal for updated information regarding your flight. You are requested to be in the vicinity of your boarding gate at least 30 minutes prior to your departure time for most domestic flights.
If you’re travelling internationally, after enjoying a browse through the shops, it is time to head through international security and continue on through Customs.
When checking in for international departures you are required to have the following documents:
- Departing Passenger Card
- Travel documents, such as tickets or booking reference number
Once you have passed Customs and Border Protection you can enjoy some last minute shopping in the Duty Free Store, café and newsagency and you’re right at your gate.
RE-CHECKING IN FOR ANOTHER FLIGHT?
After arriving at Gold Coast Airport, please collect your luggage and clear Customs and Border Protection (if arriving internationally) prior to your next flight. Once you have all your items, proceed to the check in area. Once you have checked in, head through security. If you are travelling internationally, please make sure you leave enough time to clear the international security point.
If you have significant time in between flights, why not utilise the lockers near the short term car park at the front of the terminal to store your luggage and enjoy the Gold Coast? Gold Coast Airport is located within walking distance to Kirra Beach and a three minute taxi or Surfside Bus (link to Transport page) to Coolangatta. Take the time exploring the local alfresco restaurants, boutique shops, cafes and beaches or go for a swim.
