love an adventure SydneySydney is an exciting destination at any time of year, but there is no doubt Sydneysiders and visitors alike have a soft spot for autumn. One of the best things about visiting Sydney in autumn is the wealth of activities and events on offer. From comedy to cuisine, dinosaurs to Darling Harbour - there are no shortage of adventures to be had. Imagine that crisp harbour air as you head to Circular Quay to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge on your left, the Opera House on your right, and that glorious expanse of water stretching in all directions around you. Sydney gives you the opportunity to interact with these icons more- climb to the top of the bridge or take a jet boat tour of the harbor. For a more indulgent pace, head to one of Darling Harbour’s great waterfront bars, restaurants, or shops. You may even catch one of their regular free open-air concerts and events. Learn about Sydney’s rich cultural heritage on an architecture tour or wander through the historic Rocks area and soak up the atmosphere. You want it? Sydney’s got it. Adventures for young and old are waiting on the banks - and in between them - of this harbour city. Confessions of an What’s your favourite adventure activity in Sydney? My trips to Sydney are predominantly for business purposes and to catch up with family and friends. As such, it is the big lunches with family and friends at a fabulous restaurant would have to be my favourite activity. Where do you like to stay? We love being part of the city and tend to stay either at Walsh Bay or Potts Point. Lots of great hotels, mixing it around. What other adventures in indulgence in Sydney? I love taking my wife to a special romantic dinner in Sydney. The restaurants are larger and ‘edgier’ than we have here on the Coast, although not better as such. It is nice to enjoy the difference. Best place to relax, unwind? For me it is anything by the water, so I love being near or on Sydney Harbour. Other than that the Hunter Valley is a great place to unwind. What is the biggest thrill in Sydney? I always love plugging into the hype of a big city. I definitely choose to live in the Gold Coast environment as I believe it is the best place in the world, but visits to Sydney are always ‘buzzy’ and edgy. Art Gallery, exhibition or place that blows your mind away? I am always impressed by the Powerhouse Museum. We recently toured the Egyptian exhibition at the Hyde Park Museum and that was sensational. Love popping into art galleries as well. Overall top recommendation? Visit Sydney several times a year for romantic getaways, theatres, restaurants, ferry rides, shopping and then return to the Gold Coast with a fresh perspective and an appreciation of how wonderful an area the Gold Coast truly is in which to live.
