Gold Coast Airport (GCA) has appointed aviation industry professional Jade Vincent as Manager Commonwealth Games Planning and Operations.

Ms Vincent is tasked with coordinating and implementing GCA’s Commonwealth Games Operational Plan, and in doing so will take a lead role in the airport’s readiness for the 2018 event.

She joins the airport after close to seven years with Aerocare Flight Support in the role of Service and Standards Manager, having previously worked with Virgin Australia and Oceania Aviation Services.

GCA Chief Operating Officer Marion Charlton said Ms Vincent would work closely with key external stakeholders, including GOLDOC, to ensure the airport was well prepared for the task of welcoming and farewelling thousands of Games family and visitors.

“We are very pleased to welcome Jade to our team at this exciting time for the airport. Many of our team members have worked with Jade in her role at Aerocare and we are confident her experience in airport operations and passion for service delivery will serve her well in this role,” Ms Charlton said.

“With fewer than 400 days until the Commonwealth Games, we’re well into our operational preparations for the event. Working with myself and our management team, Jade will play an instrumental role in ensuring we are Games ready.”

Ms Vincent said she was looking forward to being part of an iconic event that will showcase the city to the world.

“As an airport we really want to give our games family and spectators an experience they will remember and I’m really looking forward to being part of that,” Ms Vincent said.

“I have worked within the greater GCA family for more than 13 years, during which time the airport has successfully delivered some great projects, so I’m very pleased to have moved into this key operational role.”

Gold Coast Airport is owned and managed by Queensland Airports Limited, a regional airport specialist also operating Townsville, Mount Isa and Longreach airports.
