Freedom Air today announced that Don Taylor has won the Gold Coast Freedom for Life competition an annual trip for two to any Freedom Air destination for the rest of his life. The Freedom for Life prize was handed over by Gold Coast Airport Limited General Manager Barrie Briggs on behalf of Freedom Air at Gold Coast Airport at 2.30pm on Thursday, November 22.

12/11/2001 - FREEDOM AIRS NEW DIRECT FLIGHT FROM
Freedom Airs inaugural direct flight between Auckland and the Gold Coast, is due to touch down at Gold Coast Airport today. The flight arrives from Auckland at 7.45am and will leave Gold Coast Airport at 8.45am with its first load of Australians flying direct to New Zealands largest city.

The significant increase in the number of seats provided by Qantas from 28 October and todays announcement by Virgin Blue that the airline will treble its services to the Gold Coast has gone a long way towards restoring the capacity lost following the collapse of Ansett.
